Eid Adha 1432

The meaning of Qurban
sacrifice of an animal slaughtered for the sake of Allah

The time of Qurban
can only be performed during the three days of Eid, namely the 10th, 11th and 12th of Zulhijjah

The animals of Qurban
Goat (male/female, at least one year of age)
Sheep (male/female, at least six months of age)
Cow, ox buffalo (least two years of age)
Camel (male/female, at least five year of age)

One head of goat or sheep is enough only for one person's Qurban. But as for all other animals like cow, buffalo or camel, one head of each is equal to seven offerings thus allowing seven persons to offer Qurban jointly in one such animal.

Neither their flesh reaches Allah nor their blood; it is your piety that reaches Him. He has subjected these animals (to you) that you may magnify Allah for the guidance He has bestowed upon you. Give glad tidings, (O Prophet), to those who do good.
[Al-Haj ; 37]

whisper of d'Heart,
